The Wildcats would ignite the home crowd with 8 unanswered points to start the game. The Bulldogs would score the final 4 points of the 1st quarter to cut the lead in half, 8-4.

In the 2nd quarter, Westfield would take their first lead 14-13 , and hang on to a 16-13 lead to end the first half.

In the 3rd quarter the Wildcats and Bulldogs each scored 10 points, and the Bulldog lead remained 3 after 3 quarters.

To start the 4th quarter the Bulldogs led 26-23, while both defenses limited offensive opportunities. Centreville would take a 32-29 lead with 2:31. Westfield would then answer and take a 33-32 lead with 27.8 seconds to play when DJ Gregory was successful on two free throws. Centreville was not finished, as they reclaimed the lead 34-33 lead with 13.4 seconds to play. Westfield’s Jordan Hairston was fouled a on a drive to the hoop and converted both free throws to give the lead back to Westfield, 35-34 with 7.6 seconds to play. Centreville’s Bryce Douglas would score the game winner with .01 seconds remaining.

Westfield falls to (2-10) (0-3), while Centreville improved to (9-6)(2-1). Westfield was led by Nick Albert’s 14 points and Taylor Morin added 5. Centreville was led by Marcus Mack’s 12 points and Bryce Douglas 11 including the game winner. Westfield will play Oakton at home on Jan. 17. Centreville will play at Robinson on Jan. 17.
