Column: Where To Begin?
I realize this admission may sound weird, but having cancer is boring. Don’t get me wrong, I’m lucky to be alive, and quite happy about it, too. But waiting for the other shoe to drop, i.e. some bad cancer news to appear (lab work, scan, advisory from my oncologist), is tiresome because it’s always so worrisome.

On May 19, Chantilly National Golf and Country Club hosted their Annual Cancer Fundraiser which was organized by members of the Social Tennis Committee along with many other wonderful volunteers. This year we were able to raise over $3,000 to donate to the American Cancer Society with the help of many local businesses and individuals who contributed gift baskets, gift cards or items for our Silent Auction and Raffle.

To the Editor: Aside from the domestic issues currently facing our nation, there are parts of the world experiencing unstable and volatile situations. Among the global issues is the human rights abuse observed in countries under totalitarian regimes, preventing the spread of democracy and liberty. In order for the United States to maintain a strong stance against human rights abuse, we must reelect Congressman Frank Wolf of Virginia’s 10th Congressional District.

Column: Living Longer, Sort of Prospering
Though my column has appeared in the newspaper as usual the last few weeks, I haven’t felt much like writing. Typically, I’m weeks ahead with my column inventory, having regularly found the time and inclination to put pen to paper and provide the prose you regular readers have come to expect.
