In May, Centreville based Lane's Mill Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) member Van Lee received recognition for her 50 years of membership in the organization. The Nysmith Science Bowl team — Vaibhav Sharma, Ajit Kadaveru, Anusha Allamsetty, Ishaan Kumar and Kaien Yang — won the Virginia Regional Science Bowl and advances to national competition. The team was awarded the winners trophy, individual medals and prize money in an over-sized check for $750.
